Payment Protection - Overview
Optional protection to cover your credit card payments when you can't work.
It's not a nice thought - but involuntary unemployment, accidents and illness really could put a hole in your finances. So if the worst happens, it's good to know your credit card payments are taken care of.
Payment Protection Insurance (PPI)
- Peace of mind - make sure your credit card payments are made while you can't work (involuntary unemployment, accidents, illness or death).
- Breathing space – it pays up to 10% of your outstanding balance per month, for up to a year, direct to your Ulster Bank credit card.
- What does it cost? – just 79p for each £100, or part thereof, of the highest balance on your statement that month.
- We accept most people between 18 and 64, who live in the UK and have been in paid employment there for at least 16 hours per week.
Payment Protection Insurance is an optional insurance. The premiums quoted are correct at the time of issue and include Insurance Premium Tax at the appropriate rate. The rate of this tax may be liable to change. Significant exclusions apply so it is important that you read the full policy document provided during the application process before the end of the cancellation period.
It is your responsibility to make sure that the policy is right for you.
Please refer to Payment Protection Insurance Summary Terms & Conditions (PDF) for details.
