World Card - Features and Benefits

Ticket Cancellation

You could be reimbursed if you've booked tickets in advance to events such as concerts, sporting events or amusement parks and can't attend. Insurance applies to you, your spouse and children under 25 if the tickets were paid for with your Ulster Bank World card.

You are covered for the cost of tickets purchased using your Ulster Bank World Card when you are prevented from attending an event due to serious illness, death or accident to yourself or close relative, major property damage, vehicle theft or an accident rendering your vehicle unusable prior to the event. It also covers delayed departure of more than 2 hours or cancellation of public transport prior to the event.


Theft of Handbag or Wallet

If your wallet or handbag is stolen we could cover you for the purchase price of a replacement up to the value of £415 (contents not included). The insured person must notify the police within 12 hours of noticing the insured handbag or wallet has been stolen. An excess of £50 per claim will apply.


ATM Assault

You are provided coverage in the case of an Aggravated Theft of cash withdrawn from the Insured's Credit Card Account with the Insured Card from an ATM (Automated Teller Machine), provided the Aggravated Theft was committed within 6 hours after the cash withdrawal. The coverage is granted up to a maximum of £830 per claim and per Insurance Year.


Extended Warranty

An extended warranty period of 2 years is available for those brown or white goods purchased new with your eligible World MasterCard card, which have an original manufacturer warranty of no less than 24 months. The extended warranty commences on the day following the date on which the original manufacturer warranty expires This policy provides You with cover in respect of the Failure of Insured Items, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.

This policy covers Repair Costs up to a limit of £2,500 per claim and per year, subject to a minimum Purchase Price of £40 including VAT in respect of any claim.


Purchase Protection

Covers theft, loss or accidental damage to personal property purchased anywhere in the world by the cardholder with their Ulster Bank World Card.

  • Theft, loss or accidental damage must occur within 100 days of purchase
  • Maximum amount of claim is £3,500
  • £50 excess per claim
  • Total claim limit in 12 month period is £15,000 per account


Travel Pass Service

From translating a tricky phrase to passport assistance in an emergency, our Travel Pass service is ready and waiting to help you out. All you have to do is register to enjoy the following benefits:

  • Passport Assistance - If your passport is lost or stolen whilst abroad, we can help you to arrange a replacement passport. You must register your details beforehand for us to provide this assistance
  • Mobile Phrasebook - We can provide a downloadable phrasebook for a mobile phone. The phrasebook is available in one of 10 languages and provides translations from English to your chosen language for a range of words and phrases
  • Interpreter In Your Pocket - We can provide access to an over the phone interpreter service which is chargeable and costs £1.99 per minute (plus VAT). You must register to use this service.
