Student account is available to full time (minimum course length of 2 years, maximum of 5 years), third level students resident in Northern Ireland only. Only one student account per student. The overdraft facility must be repaid within one year of course completion.

Graduate account is available if you graduated in the past 12 months (and your course lasted at least two years). The graduate package is valid for 12 months. In July after the end of this 12-month period, we will change your account to a Current Plus Account (depending on the terms and conditions of the account). We will write to you 60 days before doing this.

*Overdraft is repayable on demand. The overdraft facility may not be exceeded without the prior permission of Ulster Bank. If you exceed your overdraft limit, surcharge interest in addition to debit interest will be applied on any amount over the authorised limit, other charges may also apply. Please see our booklet A Guide to Personal Account Fees and Interest for details. Credit is available to over 18s only, depending on your circumstances.

Additional Information

Interest-free overdraft

There's the opportunity to apply for an interest-free overdraft up to £2,000 for students (depending on your year of study) and £1,500 for graduates. You can ask us to lower or raise your limit at any time.

Student/Graduate Loan

The move from being a student to a graduate can be an expensive time. Why not relax a little with the knowledge that you can ask us for a Student/Graduate Loan.

Commission-free travel money

This service allows you to buy or change foreign currency at any Ulster Bank branch without paying the usual commission.

Pay for goods and services

Use your Maestro debit card to pay for goods and services in shops or on the internet. It's also a £100 cheque-guarantee card and cash card.

Pay bills

It's easy to set up Standing Orders and Direct Debits on your account either online or in any branch.

Credit card

A responsible credit limit and no yearly fee makes this credit card a handy little extra in your wallet. You'll enjoy a rate of 18.9% APR (variable) on purchases and balance transfers and 28% p.a. (variable) on cash advances from the date of account opening.

Withdraw cash

You're never far from your money. You can also check your balance, or get a mini-statement from an Ulster Bank cash machine.
