ISA - Individual Savings Account

ISAs can be used for savings, just like a deposit account, but with the big advantage of having no tax to pay on the interest that your savings earn. There are two types of ISA, Stocks & Shares and Cash.

You may pay into both a Stocks and Shares ISA and a Cash ISA during the same tax year provided you do not exceed the limit on the accounts combined and do not exceed the limit on cash deposits.

You can also transfer any existing ISA balances you may have with other ISA providers to your Ulster Bank Cash ISA, Cash ISA PLUS or Fixed Rate ISA. Please see our Transferring Your ISA section for further information.

Tax- free interest means that interest payable is exempt from UK income tax.
