Payments to an Ulster Bank Credit Card

Below are the different ways that an Ulster Bank Credit Card bill can be paid, and the time to allow for each payment method.
Payment method Time to allow
Direct Debit*
  • Payment is claimed 25 calendar days from statement date or shortly afterwards.
  • Payments will receive value and the funds will be available on your credit card on the business day that the money is paid from your current account.
Ulster Bank Anytime Internet and Telephone Banking
  • Payments made to your Ulster Bank credit card before 3.30pm will be applied to your credit card on that day.
  • Payments made after 3.30pm will be applied to your credit card on the following business day.
  • Future Dated payments will be applied to your credit card on the scheduled payment date.
Other banks' Online and Telephone Banking services
  • Please allow 3 business days for the payment to reach your account
At any branch of Ulster Bank
  • Cash payment will reach your account in 2 hours.
  • If paying by cheque please allow 4 business days for the payment to reach your account. Funds must be cleared before payment is accepted.
At a branch of any other bank
  • If paying by cash or cheque at any other bank the funds will normally be applied to your credit card on the following business day as long as the payment is made before that bank's cut-off time for payments. If paying by cheque, funds must be cleared before payment is accepted.
Cheque payments by post
  • Please allow 7 business days for the payment to reach your account. Funds must be cleared before payment is accepted.

Business Days excludes weekends and bank holidays.

* To set up a Direct Debit, just call 1890 924 257, or complete the Direct Debit mandate form available in any Ulster Bank branch.
