Youth savings

Build up the savings habit.

  • Start small - you can open an account with just €5.
  • Watch your money grow - with the interest we pay, your money will begin to grow. Interest is paid into your account quarterly.
  • Save when you like - if you'd like to make a regular contribution, you can set up a Standing Order. Or you can just pay in what you want, when you want.
  • Instant access - your money is there when you need it, with no notice required. You can apply for your own cash card so that you can check your balance, order a statement or take out money whenever you want from any Ulster Bank cash machine. (If you're under 16 and want a cash card, you'll need a parent or guardian to sign the application form.) Note: Government stamp duty applies: Cashcard €2.50 per annum. This is not an Ulster Bank charge.
  • Anyone aged 12 -17 can open a urmoney account

All returns are subject to Deposit Interest Retention Tax (DIRT). Under current legislation, the effective DIRT rate is 25%.
